image   London,U.K. :  Move over run-of-the-mill speakers. A Germany-based company has created a clever wireless speaker that has an accelerometer, light sensors and microphones that is going to change the way people look at sound.

Named Boom Boom, the bluetooth speaker comes with basic features like audio playback, conference call capabilities and the option to sync up two speakers.

“The new functionalities are like sleeping components that are waiting to be woken up,” Mathieu Lehanneur, the speaker's designer at the firm Binauric, was quoted as saying.

Xenon is a noble gas. Like other noble gases such as helium and neon, it is mostly chemically inert.

According to Chinese researchers, the mystery where did the gas vanish may finally be resolved: Xenon may chemically react with iron and nickel in earth's core where it is held.

The scientists from Harvard University taught three rhesus monkeys the values of 26 distinct symbols - the 10 Arabic numerals and 16 letters.

Each symbol was associated with zero to 25 drops of a reward of water, juice or orange soda.

Given the choice of two different symbols, the monkeys chose the symbol that represented the larger reward with up to 90 percent accuracy.

image Patna, India: BJP leader Giriraj Singh's election rally and road shows have been banned in Bihar and Jharkhand and he is likely to be arrested soon for his remark that critics of prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi will be sent to Pakistan, officials said Tuesday.

Taking serious note of Singh's remark, the Election Commission has also asked him to submit his explanation to it by April 24.

"The EC has banned Singh's election rallies and road shows in Bihar and Jharkhand in view of hue and cry raised over his remark," an official said.

A real estate business group based in the US told IANS over phone that the eighth annual edition of the India Property Show would be held in Edison, New Jersey, Houston, Sunnyvale and Seattle from May 31 to June 15.

image Mexico City,:  Unemployment rate in Mexico rose to 4.8 percent in March, the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI), said Tuesday.

The unemployment rate stood at 4.51 percent in March 2013, the INEGI said. The unemployment rate last month was 5.25 percent, without adjusting for seasonal factors, well above the 4.81 percent rate registered in the previous month.

The unemployment rate for males was 4.66 percent in March, compared to the 4.46 percent rate registered in March 2013, while the unemployment rate for females was 5.01 percent, well above the 4.6 percent reported in the year-earlier period.

According to an alarming research, middle-age and older adults who take daytime naps at office or home may be at increased risk of dying.

Addressing a rally in Mumbai, the Bharatiya Janata Party leader said the Congress will not get seats in double digits in any state.

"The defeat awaiting the Congress is historic. They have not seen such a defeat in any election earlier," Modi said.
