San Diego Zoo's Safari Park’s baby gorilla in critical condition

The infant gorilla delivered at the San Diego Zoo's Safari Park stayed under 24-hour care Monday as she combats pneumonia.

The infant, given birth on Wednesday by cesarean section, is, no doubt treated by the veterinary staff and neonatal experts from UC San Diego Health.  The C-segment conveyance was a first for the world-popular San Diego Zoo.

On Friday, the gorilla experienced surgery to expand one lung that was not in a good shape.

"We've been working with the infant all weekend and in the wake of having a few days of experience treating her, it's really clear that we've been managing pneumonia," said Nadine Lamberski, cohort executive of veterinary administrations at the recreation center. "It presumably happened at about the time of conception."

I never foreseen I might need to look after a gorilla, yet all the work is indistinguishable to what I'm doing with this child, said Dr.  Sunrise Reeves, a neonatologist from UC San Diego Health System.

Reeves was gotten over the past few days to help look after the child gorilla, which was conceived weighing four pounds, six ounces.

The mother, 18-year-old Imani, is recouping from the conception of her first posterity, as stated by park authorities.
