If you have a penchant for movies which is about people who fight against all odds to make it big, and has a message, positivity and humor all rolled into one, 'Kai Po Che' is the film you can’t miss out on. In this film, director Abhishek Kapoor, doesn’t resort to the predictable formula – college campus, romance and break-ups too woo audience. Instead, Kai Po Che, which can be categorized under the inspirational genre (if there is one) and is inspiring in its own way. 

 ‘Kai Po Che’ which puts forth a blend of politics, sport (cricket), riots (Godhra carnage), and a natural calamity (Gujarat earthquake), manages to capture and maintain viewers’ interest, courtesy the way it has been planned and the forethought that was involved in creating the film. In Kai Po Che, Abhishek has succeeded in putting forth the characters and crucial happenings in a convincing way. Even though these characters, which have been lifted from the book, are built with real life and dynamism, he has made them look more persuasive with his smart execution.  

Based on Chetan Bhagat’s best-seller, ‘The 3 Mistakes of My Life’, and set against the backdrop of the Gujarat riots which happened a decade ago, the film revolves around three middle class small-town men - Ishaan Bhatt (Sushant Singh Rajput), Omkar Shastri (Amit Sadh) and Govind Patel (Rajkumar Yadav) - who under no circumstances, let their resolutions and ambitions fall by the wayside and toil to turn their dreams into reality. Even though they leave no stone unturned to make it big, the situations in which they are trapped, make their lives difficult. 

The plot sees Govind, a young boy in Ahmedabad, dreaming of starting a business to garner popularity and monetary benefits. Interestingly, Govind's aim soon becomes a common dream which both Ishaan and Omi trying to chase. Since, cricket is treated like religion in our country, they decide to start a training academy which can churn out India's next sporting superstars.  While Govind’s key goal remains to earn huge bucks, Ishaan fulfils his desire to train Ali (an exceptional batsman) and Omi gets to be with his best chums. 

However, things go wrong when they are placed in a predicament, an outcome of Godhra riots. This is when Ishaan, Omi and Govind make every effort to keep their bond intact.

All in all, 'Kai Po Che' is an ode to real camaraderie. Whether it is acting skills, convincing plot or thought-provoking dialogues, the movie does justice to each aspect, gets a qualified thumbs up and can be watched multiple times.
