The transition from friends to lovers is not an easy one; in fact they aren’t always successful. Any successful relationship should start on the foundation of friendship. Getting to know one another's strengths, weaknesses, likes and dislikes happens during the friendship stage. What happens when one person wants to turn the friendship into something more serious? What if you want to go from friends to lovers?

 

To avoid either party having hurt feelings the topic of a relationship should be discussed to make sure everyone is on the same level. If you have any doubts that your friend wants a relationship you may want to take that as a sign. If you take his flirtation seriously or think he is making moves you want to be sure to avoid mixed signals. In order to get answers you have to ask questions, of course without being too pushy. Mention the topic sparingly without forcing it to see what your friend thinks. Ask yourself questions like how does he act around me compared to other females? Would the relationship ruin our friendship?

 

Do not expect too much from the conversation. Even though you may want things to move further, the same may not be true for your friend. Let him know that whatever happens you still want him to be in your life.
