New College: New College is an autonomous higher education institute affiliated to the University of Madras. Situated on a 15 acre campus, it is one of the few colleges located within the city's hub. The college offers 23 courses at undergraduate level and 10 courses at the postgraduate level. The institution is noteworthy for its research in soil biotechnology and is also one of the few institutions in Chennai offering Arabic language studies up to the Masters level. The campus has students from all over India and from many Islamic nations too
