Have your fill of fun till the festive season lasts and then brace up for work

So, you have ignored those early morning workouts, binged on the scrumptious spread and have generously lazed around doing nothing during this little mini vacation post Diwali. Once the holiday period gets over, it will be time for that quick checklist to bounce back, prepare yourself for the grind and get your routine back on track. So here are few things you can do to get over the holiday mood.

Think health food
The food and the holidays have made you pile on a few kilos, but fear not. Your busy work schedule will ensure that you remain active and lose some of it. "Plan your meals well and make five-six little boxes of healthy food that you carry to work. They could contain sprouts, salads, fruit, roasted snacks and what not. This apart, have full meals complete with vegetables, rotis and dal as well," says nutritionist Hiral Prajapati.

Sweat it out
The kaju barfis and ladoos will have left a lasting bulge on your body that could stay long after the festival is gone. Physical trainer Hardik Barot says, "People feel lazy to start exercising after festivals. Add to that the fact that it's winter now, and waking up early in the morning becomes difficult. You need to set a goal and stick to it. An early morning run or skipping could get the ball rolling. You must also balance cardio exercises with weight training to build muscle." Try some do-at-home exercises like ab workouts, suryanamaskars and push ups if you can't go to a gym. Make use of the fragrant evening air to go for walks and strolls as well.

Unleash the smiley within
After spending all this time amid loved ones, savouring delicacies and holidaying in scenic locations, waking up to go to work needs a heavy incentive. Corporate professional Kalpana Mishra agrees, "The best part of holidays is that there are no routines to follow and no deadlines to be met. No wonder, then, many people suffer from PHT (Post Holiday Tension). So, the biggest challenge is to get back into the work mode." However, on a more positive note, she adds, "Once you're back to work, you should focus on targets and priorities. Getting back to work doesn't have to be a question of boredom and pain. Set your goals and gently move forward."

So spring back and make the most of the rejuvenation you have just gotten, let your work reflect the energy you have accumulated over the holidays and look better than you ever have!
